Windows Xp Home Edition Sp3 Oem Download

Hi

Windows Xp Home Edition Product Key

Can anyone save me from suicide after days of fighting to get my machine working again?

I have Windows XP Home Edition with Service Pack 3 and IE8. Following installing a new graphics card Windows decided it was a new machine and insisted on Activation. It expired me as well so I couldn't log in. The Activation dialogue window doesn't work - it's blank because it crashes shortly after launching.

After a ton of research I found a way via Safe Mode CLI and by use of an amazing command to extend the Activation period to 30 days again so at least I could now log in normally, however no change in the crashing Activation dialogue. Meanwhile I have read everything I can online about this issue and tried them all. In particular I am familiar with the need to get a good version of IE8 working. Well let me tell you, I have wiped all versions of IE and installed 8 so many times my eyes bleed. Along the way I have tried no version of IE and only IE7 for good measure, but chiefly going with only IE8 as that's the predominant view. Everone I read says they reinstall IE8 and then Hey Presto everything works. Well, not here it doesn't.

I even tried invalidating the curreent key in the registry (having backed up/restored before and after) but that doesn't help, after all it's not that the OOBE dialogue wont start, it's that it crashes on starting.

I have worked with Windows for 35 years, underpinned with a Masters Degree in Computer Science, but there is nothing in any of it that is helping me here. Is there a real Microsoft Professional out there who can sidestep the stock answers about IE8 and really solve what the issue is here please?

Regards

I have just learnt that this is a problem that affects everyone who installed XP with SP2 who then went on to add SP3 and then changed their hardware. See this thread- Service Pack 3 breaks windows activation - bug:

Unfortunately for me the poster wasn't using an OEM copy of XP. This matter because the OEM versions never (ever) have a Repair install option. Just to make this problem really juicy. Where to now? Any suggestions other than 'next time go Linux?'.
